BILL FREEHAN HAS ALZHEIMERS "Two Catholics and the Catholic Game " George Weigel | First Things

"Because our leaders cannot imagine a rational anti-Americanism. This is due in part to the narrowing effect of multiculturalism. Paradoxically, instead of broadening our capacity to entertain ways of thinking not our own, multiculturalism has made us parochial. We compliment ourselves endlessly for our tolerance, inclusiveness, and diversity. Since we are so tolerant of others, we assume, there is no reason others shouldn't tolerate us. Since we are never offended, we must be inoffensive. When..."

"I’m documenting my own Alzheimer’s disease while I still can "- The Washington Post

"
Somewhere over Chicago, I had to go to the bathroom. My mind told me the bathroom door was immediately to my right — all I had to do was to pull on the lever — so I grabbed for it. It took Colleen screaming for me to realize that my hand was on the emergency exit door. The crew later told me never to sit in an exit row again.
My life has become a race for survival against Alzheimer's, and I'm not the only one. More than 5 million Americans suffer from this demon. "

In 1958, Lejeune had discovered that an extra 21st chromosome is responsible for Down syndrome, or Trisomy 21. The publication of his discovery appeared in the journal Nature in 1959. Some would try to use this discovery to eliminate children with Trisomy 21 before they were born. Lejeune dedicated his life tirelessly and unfailingly to defending them, and all the unborn.

THIS MAY EXPLAIN SOME PEOPLE's RUDE or SEEMINGLY UNCARING BEHAVIOR:"MIND-BLINDNESS"

THIS MAY EXPLAIN SOME PEOPLE's RUDE or SEEMINGLY UNCARING BEHAVIOR:"Mind-blindness can be described as a cognitive disorder where an individual is unable to attribute mental states to the self and other. As a result of this disorder the individual may be unaware of others' mental states, or incapable in attributing beliefs and desires to others.[1] This ability to develop a mental awareness of what is in the mind of an individual is known as the Theory of Mind (ToM). This allows one to attribute one's own behaviour and actions to various mental states such as emotions and intentions. Mind-blindness is associated with autism and Asperger's syndrome (AS) patients who tend to show deficits in social insight.[2] In addition to autism, AS, and schizophrenia, ToM and mind-blindness research has recently been extended to other disorders such as dementia, bi-polar disorders, anti social personality disorders as well as normal aging.[3]

Generally speaking, the "Mind-blindness" Theory asserts that children with these conditions are delayed in developing a theory of mind, which normally allows developing children to put themselves "into someone else's shoes, to imagine their thoughts and feelings."[4] Thus, autistic children often cannot conceptualize, understand, or predict emotional states in other people.[5]..."

"Antidepressants Affect Morality And Decision-Making, New Study Finds"

" Antidepressants Affect Morality & Decision-Making, New Study Finds...
A team of scientists from the University College
London (UCL) and Oxford University found that
healthy people who were given the serotonin-
boosting antidepressant citalopram were
willing to pay twice as much to prevent harm to
themselves or others, compared to those given
a placebo. By contrast, those who were given a
dose of the dopamine-enhancing Parkinson's
drug levodopa made more selfish decisions,
overcoming an existing tendency to prefer
harming themselves over others.
